Kedi 7-Layer sanitary Pad is a seven-layer pad divided into four categories of functions. It is produced by Kedi Health Industries to help women take care of themselves during menstruation. Fluid transfer layer: The top layer is the fluid transfer layer, and it is designed to transfer fluid from the top cover to the immediate secondary layer. Kedi 7-layer sanitary pad ensures that its fluid transfer layer is not like the traditional sanitary pad which is made up of cellulose material, and instead of dripping down, the fluid tends to remain at or near the surface which causes discomfort to its user. The approximately 20% hydrophilic fiber in this fluid transfer layer contributes to the capillary attraction necessary to pull the fluid through the cover and provide a dry surface.
(ii) Acquisition and distributing layer: This layer cannot absorb fluid immediately, so it imbibes the fluid by drawing it away from the point of discharge, and distributing it laterally. This action holds the fluid and enables it for the core to absorb. It is non-woven and is made of thermally or air-bonded composite.
(iii) Absorbent layer: The core absorbent layer of the Kedi 7-sanitary pad is generally made up of cellulosic pulp but the SAP is air-laid which helps to increase absorbency. The position of this polymer is vital in preventing clogging of the pores of the structure and restricting the absorption of fluid. So for free flow of absorption, the SAP polymer is usually fixed to the tissue between the pulp and back sheet.
(iv) Barrier sheet: The back sheet is usually made up of polyethylene, and the sheet is impermeable to fluids preventing leakage.
